New Patient BOOKING

Searching for specialist physiotherapy for knee joint pain & inflammation?

Well you couldn’t be in better hands!

At West 1 Health, we know better than anybody the impact that consistent knee pain can have on your life. What may have started out as minor discomfort off the back of a training session or a small trip while out for a walk can evolve into chronic pain that can leave you miserable if left untreated.

Our qualified physiotherapists are specialised to treat anything from the smallest to the most complex knee problems, and help with recovery from sports injury or trauma.

What causes knee pain?

  • Sprains and strains often occur during or as a result overstretching, overuse or twisting the knee during exercise.
  • Tendonitis - Repetitive movements like running or jumping can cause pain between your kneecap and shin.
  • Torn Ligament, such as an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), or a Torn Meniscus will cause pain or buckle when you try to stand making it challenging to straighten the leg. These types of injuries are common among active sportspersons.
  • Dislocation - A sudden change in direction of the kneecap can cause it to discloate, causing great discomfort or pain.
  • Osgood-Schlatter's disease - Inflammation of the patellar that causes swelling below the kneecaps. This occurs most often in teenagers and young adults.
  • Anterior Knee Pain - often caused by the softening and breakdown of cartilage on the underside of the kneecap (patella)
  • Side effects during recovering from a knee replacement surgery
  • Arthritis

Delivering proven solutions to treat your knee pain

The treatments we offer at West 1 Health are evidence-based which, in short, means they’re proven to help treat existing knee conditions, prepare for surgery and support rehabilitation after surgery.

During your first session, you’ll meet your physiotherapist who will conduct a thorough assessment and provide you with the most effective treatment plan.

The session will conclude with your first treatment, so you leave the clinic with a feeling of physical improvement, an understanding of the ‘why’ and ‘how’ associated with your condition, and a clear picture of the recovery process.

We also want you to restore your confidence in returning to your normal activities, without worrying about knee pain becoming a recurring issue, so you’ll also receive guidance and a programme of exercises that will help you to stay pain and injury-free long after your sessions with us conclude.

If you feel you need extra support, we can also connect you with one of our specialist osteopaths who can support you with realignment, stretches and massaging of the muscles and joints to act as a ‘pre-covery’, supporting physical wellbeing and joint health to prevent knee problems before they arise.

Why West 1 Health?

Our Central London location makes it easier than ever to receive treatment for your knee pain and avoid issues from recurring. Whether you’re a sports-lover who’s working in the city, or you simply want to be treated by the top physiotherapists and osteopaths near Harley Street, our central practice has you covered.

We work closely with a number of health practitioners, who refer cases to us knowing we offer a highly professional, specialist service.

As a practice, we put an emphasis on coaching each and every one of our patients so you have a deeper understanding of your condition and how you can help your own healing and prevent repeat injuries going forward.

This benefits everyone - it means you’re able to get the treatment and pain relief, and we get the satisfaction of seeing happy, pain-free patients which, in turn, means a successful physiotherapy clinic.
